Scholarships – Undergrad

Mission
To sustain the undergraduate scholarship program and encourage the development of lasting ties between the FWA and Murry Bergtraum High School, by supporting the education of young women and encouraging them to help others through continued involvement in the FWA.

Program History
Since 1988 the FWA of New York Educational Fund has awarded over $500,000 to over 144 qualifying graduating Murry Bergtraum High School mentees.  BMO Capital Markets has generously provided funds for these scholarships since 2009.

Program Description
In addition to awarding scholarships and encouraging recipients to excel academically, a committee focuses on enriching the program through events and networking.  Two events, a reunion held in January and a Summer program in August brings together the committee members and current and past scholarship recipients.

Program Schedule
Committee members organize and participate in the reunion and summer event.

Committee Meeting Schedule
The committee meets usually by conference calls with one meeting in October and November to finalize the January reunion dinner.

As Co-chair, I hold the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee near and dear to my heart. I was the first scholarship recipient and am honored to serve as a chair.  I love working with the students
